Happy Valentine's Day
This is my attempt at trying to make a Valentine's Day card for a guy to give a girl. I guess it sort of worked. The foiled balloons are actually the candy heart die from the Tim Holtz Crazy Things set, which is how this whole card started. I wanted foiled balloons. The bird, hat, and candy were colored using my Zig Clean Color pens and a bit of water. The background panel was made using a new stamp set from Papertrey Ink called Outlined, in black, and PTI poppy red, and then attached to a black panel where I used a Spellbinders edge die for the heart border. Mounted the whole thing to a PTI poppy red card base, and done.
Go make something pretty. :)

Hello, Beautiful!
The color scheme for this card comes from the Catherine Pooler Stamp of Approval box, and is the basis for a challenge that I'll be entering this in to. The challenge has 3 requirements: Color, Friendship, and must be mailed out. If you would like to enter, you may do so here: January Friendship Challenge Album
This was made using Altenew's Beautiful Day set, and a sentiment created from My Favorite Things Label Maker Love. The background splatters are also from My Favorite Things Distressed Patterns. Sequins and card stock are Papertrey Ink. The pink flower is stamped with Gina K Designs Innocent Pink, Dusty Rose, and Passionate Pink. The turquoise flower is stamped with Papertrey Ink Tropical Teal, Hawaiian Shores, and Aqua Mist. The orange flower is stamped with Papertrey Ink Melon Berry, Summer Sunrise, and Orange Zest. The leaves are stamped with Gina K Designs Grass Green and Fresh Asparagus.
Flowers and leaves were cut out with my Brother Scan n Cut (Have I mentioned enough times how much I love that thing yet??)
Have a fantastic day, and go make something pretty.

Today, I decided to play with Ken Oliver Color Burst powdered watercolors in Lemon Yellow, Ultramarine Blue, and Pthalo Green. Fun, but messy. After my watercolor background dried, I used a stencil, and some Ranger Texture Paste in transparent gloss, mixed with a bit of Crystal Glitter Ritz in Warm Highlight.
The Hello die is Lawn fawn, popped up on some fun foam, and glittered with some random glitter from either Walmart, or the Dollar store - I forget. "Friend" is part of a sentiment from a Close To My Heart set called Fabulous You - I simply taped off what I wanted for my own purposes. These were put on a paper heart doily and attached to my watercolor panel, which was then attached to a Gina K Designs heavy base weight white card base.
And of course my new handy-dandy name stamp for the back. :)

Happy Heart Ombre Day
Today's card is for an Ombre Challenge over at Mod Squad. I love combining brands; your options become even more endless. We have a little bit of Papertrey Ink, Gina K Designs, My Favorite Things, Stampin' Up, and misc. contents of bins, boxes, hangers and jars from my dungeon.
First I embossed light pink card stock with a heart embossing folder, and flipped it over for a de-bossed look. Then started building my layers with stitched scallop dies and patterned paper. My ombre effect is the intentional light stamping of the black rectangles, I also used 3 different pinks underneath (Angel, Bubblegum, and Passionate) to give a striped pattern, and used a heart stencil on top with Bubblegum Pink, and Passionate Pink. Watercolor Words by Stampin Up was used for the focal sentiment, as the stamp itself gives a bit of an ombre effect as well.
After I had the entire thing put together and finished, I smudged black ink from my finger, so as a last ditch attempt to save it, because it was right in the middle, I hauled out my MFT splatter stamp, and tried to cover it up. Success!
